THIS WEEK/HALF-TERM (13/02/2012 - 17/02/2012). A Mosaic is being created in aid of the FRESHWATER LIFEBOAT at Fort
Redoubt, Gate Lane, Freshwater Bay. This is an opportunity to contribute £10 towards a 10cm square of the mosaic and also to
see and walk over the new bridge which was constructed with funding from the WWLP. Take the small road adjacent to the
field (next to the public WC) and follow on up to the fort.
ST. SAVIOURS PROJECT: this was funded by the WWLP and involved children from St. Saviours collecting clay from Compton Bay
to use in a common project to create a mural. The clay was bisque fired after the fishes and sea-creatures were modelled
and then glaze fired and eventually attached to the backing board. Some of the children also had a session on the potters
wheel and created some lovely bowls and vases. The 4 artistic sessions were hosted at Seahorses Art Studio. Everyone is
looking forward to the finished mural being displayed in the corridor at St. Saviours.
LIFEBOAT MOSAIC. The Lifeboat Mosaic is now nearing completion and will hopefully be displayed in its permanent position
outside the new shop sometime around Easter time. There are still many £10 squares available to purchase. The mosaic has
been publicly displayed with community involvement at the Bay, Dimbola Lodge, Fort Re-doubt and Seahorses Art Studio.
THE ASSOCIATION AGM: Is to be held on the 18th May at the Parish Hall, Victoria Road, Freshwater at 7:00pm. Our Chairman,
Boris Moscoff, is standing down so a replacement is required. If you fancy the job, or you know someone who does, please
send the nomination to our Secretary. Contact Boris if you want to find out what the role entails.
