It is important that residents of Freshwater, or any of the surrounding parishes, attend meetings of their respective Town or Parish Councils. Time is always allocated to answer questions from the public and it's your opportunity to make your concerns known. If you are unable to attend meetings then please write to them.

Freshwater Parish Council meets on the first Tuesday of each month, except during August. The meetings start at 7:30pm and are held in the Tennyson Suite at the Memorial Hall, Avenue Road, Freshwater. Totland Parish Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month, except during August. The meetings start at 7:30pm are held at Winchester House, The Broadway, Totland. A link to their website is on our "Links" page where meeting minutes and agendas may be downloaded.

Yarmouth Town Council meets on the first Tuesday of each month. The meetings start at 7:30pm and are held in the Town Hall, Yarmouth.

Commenting on a Planning Application If you have a reason to object, or indeed approve, of a planning application it essential to let the Isle of Wight Council's Planning Department know. If you need advice how to go about this then some guidelines can be found by clicking here.

The Police should be contacted if you witness vandalising, drunkeness, rowdy behaviour or other minor offences by dialing 101...do not use 999 unless it is a matter of extreme urgency. Always ask for a log number when making a call as then incidents will be included in statistics.
