Freshwater Wildlife Group
- AIMS
- To foster awareness of the wildlife of Freshwater
- To create a database of local experts.
- OBJECTIVES
- Identify areas possible for enhancement as habitats
- Increase awareness of the importance of gardens as wildlife habitats
- Create displays informing residents of biodiversity and habitats, encouraging local population to be involved with the work of the group.
NEWS 2010 - 2011
- PHOTOGRAPH EXHIBITION 1ST - 30TH SEPTEMBER 2010
- The response from local photographers was overwhelming. Over 1000 entries were received of very high quality. The final exhibition comprised 50 photographs representing the diversity of habitats and species to be found in Freshwater. It was well received by the general public.
- WALKS
- Bird and butterfly walks were held in the spring, and more walks are planned for the autumn. Please remember to look at the website for details.
- INTERPRETATION BOARDS

Two interpretation boards are currently planned. The first, "Wildlife Corridors" is ready for installation and will
be unveiled within the next few months, to see a preview click HERE.
"Wildlife of the Bay" will be completed by the end of August and will be
installed on a date agreed with the Freshwater Bay Residents' Association.
Funding for these boards came from fundraising events by the Group and a generous grant from the WWLP.
